Week 58 in the Mission Field

Hi Everyone,

It’s been a bit of a busy week! The ward is great, really on the ball with missionary work! The area is nice and flat! It’s the most wealthy parish in Louisiana! It’s a really good area!

Tuesday-Friday : we had exchanges, they were great! I was in Mandaville with our District leader Elder Decker.  It was really good! We helped a member move some stuff and we walked 10 miles to see a less-active, tracted along the way so we could save miles on the car. The mission office told the missionaries that anyone who goes over miles will have their car taken away…so glad I’m on a bike and don’t have to deal with that! Tuesday night, we had our ward coordination meeting.  The members are on the ball and do their best here! It’s soo nice!!!! Our ward mission leader is great. It’s a great blessing to meet members that when you talk with them, you can feel how much they love their Savior!  When you talk about the gospel it’s not just one side that’s learning something new, but both! We had a great discussion with one of the members that we went out teaching with! It was so awesome! Everyone learns so much more when we all share in the discussion.

Saturday, we biked out to Abita Springs to see some people.  We got to meet some great members there! Yes, that is the town that Abita root beer is from! It ended up being a 20.8 mile round trip. We had to haul it back so we didn’t get poured on!  Elder Condie and I learned that we can bike 18-19 miles per hour for 30+ mins if we use me as a draft horse. hahahah! It was great! So glad for the bike trail in Covington! We didn’t have to slow down for cars until we got back to Covington.

Sunday, we had a conference. It was a multi-stake conference over broadcast for the whole South East. It was really good! It’s been interesting to be companions with someone that has been out 20+ months. You learn so much.  It’s amazing how much he’s changed for the better!

Learn how to use the atonement! It will make your life so much better! Help you through the hardest times and help you become so much more happier, closer to Christ.  Something I’ve come to realize is that when you correct, rebuke or chastise someone, do it out of love and then show an increased amount of love towards them.  Follow the spirit! I’ve learned that there is always something to learn from the Gospel and its great learning from others as well!

Can y’all pray for Nick,  Bo, Devon and Matthew? Can y’all send some spices? NO CANDY PLEASE! I’m not eating anymore!! I like biking because it’s easy on the joints and doesn’t kill my knee! It’s great exercise 🙂 The weather here has been a wee bit chilly… not too bad when you walk but on a bike it’s a lot colder! It’s only 40-45 but it feels like 30…..  I did buy new service shoes because my last ones were falling apart.

Hope y’all are doing great!

Love,

Elder Micah A. Ralph!
