Week 87 in the Mission Field

Hi everyone,

Well, it has been a long week. sad to leave Laplace… but not sad to leave behind some of the people  I’ve met! Treat others how you want to be treated and you will not only avoid problems but also make friends. BTW, everyone please remember that missionaries are still human! They still get mad, sad, tired and angry…. we are like you, just held to a much higher standard! Laplace will be my shortest area, spent 6 weeks here! I will be the new area district leader! I’ll let y’ll know where I get sent to! Be careful what you pray for! The lord might give it to you in a way you never though…. or want…. when you teach people about something the Lord is going to test you on how well you live what you teach!

Tuesday we did a bunch of tracting…. and got to see some awesome less-actives!

Thursday did more tracting and went to see a less-active that wants to get back into church and asked to meet with us! It turns out that he lived in Ponchatoula when I was there and we tried to see a him ton! He also know a couple of the investigators we had there too! When he left my trainer and I cleaned out his trailer! Thats the 3rd or 4th time someone from ponchatoula moved to an area when I was serving there! That was one weird lesson with him……

Friday me and the 3 other elders we live with, all decided to clean up our language. Not that it was bad, we are just trying to talk more like Christ’s representatives. Every time someone says freak, flippin or dude, they got punched… lets just say it works well. Man,my arm is sore! We also had our zone training meeting! kinda loud.. it was still good! I learned a bunch! After that, we went to our apartment in Laplace and had about 15 mins to vacuum and sweep! Thankfully, it was already really clean and we have not been living there! They were coming to check the mold issue and long story short caused a bunch of issues and lied through their teeth. Called us liars. Treat people how you want to be treated! Just because we are not from Louisiana does not mean you treat us like 5 year olds! If you want to see a ‘trashed’ apartment give me 10 mins and you will! If you cant trust the word of a worthy and trying missionary then well, send me home! Needless to say, that was a long day. So thankful for 3 friends who listen 🙂 God may allow things to get hard but He does and will provide a way for you to get through it! Can’t talk to family? Well, I guess I’ll talk to those who I Can! So thanks again you 3 🙂 listening does much more then talking 🙂

Saturday, we did a faith walk! Got to talk to a few people! It was good! We saw a 2 alligators and a ton of turtles! We did some more tracting and then had dinner at a members!

Sunday, we had church! It was pretty good! Our high councilor came and brought a friend with him! Then we did our studies and followed up with a few people! Only 1 of them was home….

Monday, we got to do some service at the farm! It was great! They had a news reporter come and do article!

Can y’all pray for Bo, Nick, Matthew, Gene, Roshell and Jeff?

Hope y’all have an awesome week!

Love,
Elder Micah A. Ralph
